So it has been quite awhile since I have posted. In the past month, I have moved my studio and living quarters, and completed this 96 x 240 painting. At the request of my client, this was painted on wood with milk paint. It is a commission that will be displayed outdoors at 1528 Madison Rd. It is a tribute to those who served in WW1. You can also see a more detailed version here.
You will notice two versions shown above. The second is actually the way I painted it with distortion to the left and right of center. This was done to accommodate angled walls where it will be mounted. In the first version above I undistorted these sections to show how it will appear when viewed directly in front.

Sorry... it has been awhile since I have posted. I have been working on a large (96 x 246) commission. It depicts a group of World War 1 soldiers. As you can see, I am about one half way through the block in. I am working with milk paint. It dries very fast so I am more/less working my way across, modeling and blending as I go. You will notice a stretched out distortion in the second panel. The painting will be mounted to a public wall that turns, on an angle, away from the viewer. When the panel is on that angle, and the viewer is in front, the forms will appear to be the same as the ones to the right and left. I am putting a row of trees behind the soldiers. These represent the trees planted on Victory parkway to honor WW1 veterans.
